CFAI and Club 14 Fitness are sponsoring the First Annual Youth Fitness Ride Saturday, October 18th. Ride distances are 25, 35, 45 miles and 100 kilometers.
Starting this Thursday, October 2nd and continuing every Tuesday and Thursday during the 8:30 class the WOD will be a bike ride - so bring your bikes and helmets! Road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, or cruisers - whatever bike you have! Basic road rules, shifting gears, riding in a pack will be discussed. One week we will even learn to change a flat! Each week the distance will increase, not to exceed the hour long class time.
The Youth Fitness Ride, on Oct 18th, is only $25 now and all proceeds go to buying bikes and/or gym equipment for youth fitness programs. Ride day registration is $45, so register now. You can register straight from the CFAI website http://www.crossfitameliaisland.com/ and look for the link to Youth Fitness Ride. If you do not have a bike, but would like to ride with us during the week or on ride day, please post and we will try to hook you up. There are lots of un-used bikes in garages.
Let's start a great tradition for CFAI and the youth in our community!

Similiar to Fight Gone Bad III, AND leading up to the Youth Fitness Ride:
-All Tuesday and Thursday classes will be "Bike WOD" days.
-A seperate WOD for the Sandbox will be posted each day as well.
-On Tuesday and Thursday a.m. - Coaches will be riding with students and coaching them in areas of: cadence, road safety, heart rate, and interval training. A WOD will be posted, for the a.m. class - but student electing to stay in the Sandbox will be expected to complete the WOD on their own.
-On Tuesday and Thursday night - Coaches will be in the Sandbox and the students who elect to ride will be on their own. Instructions for riding will be given out prior to the ride concerning Cadence and Heart rate.
-We encourage you to invite your freinds for FREE to the rides. All ability levels are welcome. Bring any type of bike you wish. We will scale the bike WOD - to your ability level.
-Rules; are that any CFAI'er can bring a freind for FREE. Any non-CFAI'er - must bring a freind in order to do the bike WOD. All are welcome.
-We anticipate having extra bikes and helmets to wear. Please let us know as much in advance as you can - for needing equipment. We will make every effort to accomodate you and your friends!
Doug, if you have the name of some of the bike places that you mentioned for the demo bikes, can you please blog them for send a e-mail of the name and locations. I want to do the ride but not on a beach cruiser which is what I have. I am looking for a hybrid bike but I want to make sure this is something worth putting the extra $$$ into for me personally. Thanks
