8:30a class gets the award for the Best Squats of the Day! Great form..excellent focus on learning the instructional guidelines - and great questions regarding the difference between the "High Bar" and "Low Bar" back squat. As discussed...there are so many little subtle differences...but for the most part:
-hip position and thus the driving force behind each lift is totally different.
-the next time you hear someone say, "I did squats" today...you should have 10 questions immediately come to mind!
-Generally Weightlifters(high bar) will want to keep our hips under the bar and come close to our heels with our butts
-Generally Strength Athletes (low bar)will be interested in driving the hips up 1st along with elevating chest at the same time. The que on this lift is "HIPS"!
